Elaine Phelps

Elaine earned a BME, voice concentration, from Appalachian State University and a MME from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is the K-5 music specialist at the Appalachian State Academy at Middle Fork lab school. She has taught K-8 general music, chorus and Orff percussion ensembles in several NC school districts. She also built the upper school choral program at Summit School from its beginnings to earning top ratings at state contests. She and her husband, Mike, are on the home stretch of raising their son and daughter and would not trade a minute of the experience.
